Sourced from the 7.5-hectare Kivanga Estate in Embu County, Kenya, this exceptional washed lot is meticulously managed by producer Morris Njagi. Situated at an elevation of 1,750 meters above sea level, the estate operates its own washing station and is renowned in the region for cultivating high-quality SL-28 and SL-34 varieties. During the harvest, the coffee is carefully hand-picked at peak ripeness, sorted, and floated before being pulped. It is then fermented in open tanks, thoroughly washed to remove all mucilage, and slowly dried on raised beds for 14 to 21 days, where it is consistently rotated and hand-sorted to guarantee top physical quality. Since 2015, Kivanga Estate has partnered with Kamavindi Coffee through the Kushikamana project—meaning "connected" in Swahili—to continuously elevate their coffee quality and forge strong relationships with international buyers.
