Size

Sourced from smallholder "garden farmers" in the Shantawene village of the Bensa district, within Ethiopia's celebrated Sidama region , this natural-processed lot highlights the rich genetic diversity of the area's indigenous Arabica landrace varieties. Cultivated at an impressive altitude of 2,226 meters above sea level , these producers traditionally grow coffee in the lush, fertile garden areas surrounding their homes, often harvesting from trees that naturally occur on their land. Ripe cherries are meticulously hand-picked and transported to the washing station for careful density and hand sorting. The cherries then undergo a prolonged drying period on beds under the Ethiopian sun to reach optimal moisture levels before being dry-hulled and prepared for export. This meticulous natural process perfectly captures the high-altitude terroir , resulting in a beautifully complex profile with distinct tasting notes of pear, concord grape, and green tea.
